Perquimans Village at Beechtree Inn

Richard Pratt House
Perquimans Village is a fascinating collection of historic, pre-Civil War structures moved to this location from nearby areas to save them from destruction. Some of the restored buildings are used as part of the Beechtree B & B, namely the Pratt Wing c. 1820, Bennetts Creek House c. 1750, the Flat Branch House c.1710 and the Bear Swamp House c. 1837. Also, on the property is a smokehouse, dovetailed contructed outbuilding, dairy and wooden jail.

The three buildings are furnished with period reproduction furniture made by Beachtree's ownder Ben Hobbs in his onsite workshop, where furniture making classes are offered twice-monthly. Ben's classes focus on classic 18th century designs such as, a Queen Anne Chair, pencil post bed, Chippendale chair or sideboard. Woodworkers come from all over the country to study with this master woodworker.

Also, on the premises is an upscale restaurant located in a restored 18th colonial building. Jackie Hobbs, Ben's wife, over-sees the restaurant, as well as the bed and breakfast. Visit for a fascinating tour of the property and stay the night. The evening offers a fantastic meal in the Beechtree Inn Restaurant or one of the many other places to eat. Stay a week and complete a classic piece of furniture for your home. The Hobbs offer a wonderful experience for the enjoyment of their guests.
